The latest news regarding Range Automation Systems:

Cypress Ridge is now utilizing our BX-10 Golf Ball Vending Machine, along with our Range Management Software (RMS). They decided to upgrade and greatly improve their vending machine experience. Installed with the RMS, the BX-10 is years ahead of any other vending machine on the market.

Installation is complete at the Poly Group Chengdu Golf Course. 8 EagleStar tee stations were installed to provide a warm up facility for members. The concept was based around the Bali Hai driving range located in Las Vegas.

Installation is complete at the Golf Warehouse Takapuna and Wellington driving ranges. That makes 80 automated tee stations in New Zealand. Visit the Installations page for more info.

The Swing Driving Range, located in Perth Western Australia, is now open. Work commenced on the new driving range in May 2009 after years of planning and research. Through the town of Cambridge, RAS was awarded a contract to install 80 NorthStar 4 auto tees as well as our complete ball wash and supply system.

We are very proud to be a part of this project and look forward to increasing their revenues as well as their customer's satisfaction.

In 2008 the land that the Big Swing Driving Range is on was planned to be sold. During the Global financial crisis the land deal fell through, but not before the Northstar II tee-up system was removed. The owners attempted to re-open the driving range and sell buckets, but sales were nowhere near previous figures when the automated tee-up system was in place. So they decided to lease the driving range to the Golf Warehouse, New Zealand largest golf retailer. The Golf Warehouse operates 5 driving ranges in New Zealand.

Immediately after taking over operations the goal was to establish the same sales figures as before with the NorthStar system. So the Golf Warehouse contracted RAS to install 28 EagelStar automated tee-up machines, along with our automated ball wash and delivery system. Once the automation was operational sales immediately increased. The Golf Warehouse was so pleased with the success of the EagleStar system RAS is now installing 52 more EagleStar units at their Takapuna and Wellington driving ranges. Please visit our installation page for more details.

The Kent Town Hotel
(Adelaide, South Australia)
RAS is proud to announce it's newest customer The Kent Town Hotel, located in Kent Town, Australia. This 14 station 2 level facility is completely indoors and is only 50 yards long. The owner, Tom Hannah, was convinced after visiting Chelsea Piers, Desert Pines and Bali Hai that the automated system was the only way to go. Along with a water canal to collect the golf balls and return them to the machine room this range is fully automated, utilizing the Range Management Software and conveyor system. This is RAS's second installation in Australia and will not be the last.

March 14th, 2005

This is a very exciting time at RAS. With many new projects about to break ground and the soon release of the much-anticipated Northstar III business could not be better. Not only will the new system have ball flight monitoring technology, a color touch screen is being added to display information such as tee height, remaining number of balls and streaming advertising. The advertising feature allows you to generate extra profits from local or national companies as well as promote any deals or specials offered at your location. You and your customers can also access statistics of the driving range via the Internet. Also the owner or manager can view all of the ranges statistics in just seconds while they are away from the office by using RAS's patented Range Management Software (RMS). Information such as daily sales figures, machine utilization and even real time station statistics are all there. Also problems that may arise can be easily diagnosed via the Internet by one of our skilled technicians back at our headquarters. Offering a cost effective alternative to servicing your range. For additional information fill out the form on our Order Information page.

Libertyville Sports Complex
(Libertyville, IL)
The Village of Libertyville had contracted RAS to install 40 NorthStar II stations at its new Sports Complex, that were completed in spring of 2002. The 2 level tee deck is a cornerstone of this exciting, modern facility that features a variety of venues, including batting cages, indoor basketball and soccer, a lighted softball field, and miniature golf courses. Parks Director Randy Reoppelle made the decision to use the NorthStar system as a result, in part, of closely watching the success at its sister city of the Skokie Sports Park range. The Libertyville range features 20 tees on each of two levels, with 20 tees heated for winter use. Also featured as part of the golf learning center is a short game area, a practice putting green, full pro shop, and a concession area. Opening date was June 1, 2002. Big Swing Golf, NZ
(New Zealand)
Big Swing Golf, NZ completed installation of 27 NorthStar II tees in May of 2001 at this unique range featuring a relocated wood deck complemented by a new club house and related facilities. Local construction difficulties delayed the opening until late August, but Big Swing was finally able to offer to its patrons the exceptional ease of use and consistent performance of the NorthStar II system. Andrew Russell, owner of Big Swing, made the decision to install the tees because Big Swing had enjoyed exceptionally high volume at its previous location, and since they could not increase the number of stations, the NorthStar system offered the best means of increasing the capacity of the range. This is the first use of RAS equipment in New Zealand, making Big Swing the first range in that country to employ automated tees.

Bali Hai Golf Course
(Las Vegas, NV)
Installation of 9 NorthStar II automated tees was completed in June of 2001. This world-class facility installed the tees at their warm-up facility for use at no charge by golfers with a tee time. Bali Hai selected the NorthStar II system as a result of the enormous success of the Desert Pines range which is also owned by Walters Golf and has been using our equipment for over 5 years. RAS is pleased to be a part of this exceptional course offering the finest golf experience on the Strip. The response of patrons who have used the automated tees is overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Facilities Director Larry Coy praised the NorthStar system as being truly state-of-the-art, representing a fourth generation evolution from the first generation tees installed at Desert Pines. "These new machines are fantastic", he stated, "They are more reliable and far easier to service than anything else I've seen."

Mulligans Golf Dome
(Auburn Hill, MI)
Building on the enormously successful performance of the 62 RAS NorthStar II stations installed in the Golf Dome in December of '99, Mulligan's Golf Center completed the addition of a third level to the indoor tee deck in November of 2000. An additional 24 NorthStar II stations and a second RAS flexible screw conveyor were added, bringing to 86 the number of RAS automated tees installed, making it the largest state-of-the-art facility of it's kind in North America. The high volume experienced at this facility during the peak winter months has proven to be no problem for the extremely reliable NorthStar II system.
